Minecraft players will have the ability to change their user names soon thanks to a future update, an option not available to players since the sandboxs release in 2009.
Mojang dev. Kristoffer Jelbring broke the news over Twitter when he revealed an image of his user name with the option to change it, followed by a Minecraft hashtag. Jelbring wrote that more info will be provided later on during the week. The changes will be free, but players will only be granted a fixed number of opportunities to change their names at a time.
According to the official Minecraft support page: “We do not yet support changing or editing user names, though this is planned for the future. We do not have a set release date for this feature,”
Last month, Telltale and Mojang announced Minecraft: Story Mode, a story-driven game, created by Telltale, based in the Minecraft-Verse. Player choice will be highlighted, similar to other Telltale titles, such as The Walking Dead. More details as they become available.
