After a two-year break I began playing Eve Online again. Like most multi-player games in that amount of time things have changed culture, game mechanics, etc..Don’t get me wrong it’s still Eve Online, but I know CCP keeps tinkering with ship balance, and I wasn’t going to jump in blind.
I have always played for the thrill of PVP, and I wanted to see how ship balance and mechanics had changed. I did a google search and found a great resource EVE PRO GUIDES.
The free resources in the blog and the testimonials from other customers peaked my interest, but before I gave up $39 to someone I had never heard of. I wanted to check out the quality of the guides. I gave up my email address, and received the free Tristan PVP guide.
I gained access to the Tristan fitting guide which explains in detail the logic, and thought process behind the fit Abaddon suggest. If you’re a noob you can simply copy the fit, but the detailed instruction and explanations allow you to learn the game, and why certain items are better in various situations. You learn to fit for yourself instead of relying on corpies or random strangers.
I received the Tristan tactics guide which explains in detail the three fighting tactics available to the Tristan.
I received the Tristan cheat sheet which is a valuable asset if you’re new or haven’t played in a while. It’s basically a guide with easy engagements in green and tactics for the target type.
More risky engagements are listed in yellow along with the appropriate tactics and warnings for engaging.
Dangerous engagements with a slim chance of you winning are highlighted in red with the best tactics for the situation if you find yourself engaged with one of these ships.
Of course all situations are different and as your skills increase you will find you can engage a broader range of targets. I’m a “I bought it, to lose it” kind of players so I engage most anything, and have pulled off some pretty decent kills. No guts , no glory, right?
I received the narrated fight videos which are the real gold mine of all of Abbadons guides. You can see real world situations where what you’ve learned in the guide is put to practical use. Abbaddon gives you detailed explanations about his thought process during the fight, and about what you should be doing when you see key indicators in the fight.
I really learned a lot with the free guide not only about the Tristan but about PVP in general. What the enemy will be thinking at certain points in the fight. What to do if certain situations arise? Do I run? Do I stay? Do I close? Do I keep distance? Do I orbit? What distance should I start the fight at? Should I fight? how do I isolate?
After playing around with the Tristan for a while in faction warfare I decided to buy the Wolf guide and try my hand at the Wolf, but I haven’t had a chance to really put the wolf or the tactics I’ve learned to the test yet.
So Abbadon sells these really great guides on his website, but he also has a ton of free content about PVP, and its all there for you to pick up bits of information to add to your own PVP skill set. Articles include things like
- Which Targets Should You Fight? How do you Fight Them? Solo PVP Video Guide
- Alpha Clone Mining Venture = 4+ Million ISK per Hour
- Insta-Kill Thrasher Fit and Fun [2nd Edition]
Eve Pro Guides has not paid me anything to write this article. I’ve been wanting to feature a gamer each month on Relevant-Gaming for a long time. Eve Pro Guides has provided something of value to me and I simply wanted to share it with you. If you play Eve Online you need to visit Eve Pro Guides.
